The Department of Justice (DOJ) launched a new Second Amendment Task Force this month, announced by Attorney General Pam Bondi. The purpose is to defend the rights of law-abiding gun owners and vendors.
The task force will include representatives from multiple Justice Department divisions, as well as the ATF and FBI. This initiative follows the repeal of the “zero tolerance” policy of President Biden’s administration, which had increased federal oversight to revoke licenses for gun dealers for all infractions.
“The Department of Justice’s new Second Amendment Task Force will combine department-wide policy and litigation resources to advance President [Donald] Trump’s pro-gun agenda and protect gun owners from overreach,” Attorney General Bondi said.
